In previous we had in our boarder Sinokor Merchant Marine Co. Ltd. Korea, OOCL Vessel husbanding Services, Vasco Maritime in Bangladesh at CGP port. GPSL acquired agency of Sinokor Merchant Marine Co. Ltd. of Korea in 2007. It was successfully running agency operation of the company and earned respect of shipper, importers, etc within a very short time. GPSL also now sign an agreement as Agent only with Trans-Coastal Lines of Malaysia in Nov 2008, Heung A Line Co Ltd., TS Lines, and, MGR Container Line, Singapore, Sea Hawk Lines of India, Break Bulk Vessel, OPA Services and Crew changes under S5 Agency World Principal
GPSL is providing quality and professional services to the shipping industry. It enjoys support of the local and overseas customers for its high standard of ethics and efficient management.
GP Shipping is also handles break-bulk vessels of all-sorts including bulk carriers, tankers and chartered tonnage.
GPSL is also operating as charter broker for in-house cargo and also selective clients in home and abroad. It has extensive knowledge of handling marine claims matters.
OUR HISTORY
Mr. Mohammed Masum, a first generation businessman of Bangladesh, initiated his entrepreneurship in mid ’70. His first mission was to help the agricultural sector – the backbone of the country’s economy. His agricultural input business started back sometimes in early 80’s. He played a visionary role in the Agricultural Sector of Bangladesh for introduction and distribution of high yielding variety seeds for the benefit of farmers. His much known Surovi Group of companies is now the single largest supplier of hybrid seeds in private sector.
Mr. Mohammed Masum, is member of all apex bodies on seeds and agricultural development of Bangladesh.
Surovi Group of Companies is one of the fastest growing business house Bangladesh. It developed business in multiple sectors from trading to manufacturing, shipping agency, real estate, seed multiplication & also seed import/ distribution, and preservation of agro products, etc, etc. As volume of trade surged, necessity was felt to float a shipping company to support group activities. GP Shipping Lines Ltd. (GPSL) came into being in 1998 with a view to facilitate transportation of in-house import, handling of chartered vessels and also to develop container trade.
GPSL acquired agency of I-Con shipping in 1999. It became local partner for Jardine Matheson Group in 2001. As Jardine Shipping Services Bangladesh obtained agency license and started operating independently, GPSL ventured to re-establish as a separate agency house in mid 2007. Very soon we got very good response from the overseas principals and started agency operation in same year.
